RACHEL

educational leader and practitioner

I have 15 years of experience in education, specialising in drama, LAMDA, musical theatre, and dance. My career has included both teaching and professional performance, with experience in London and international productions. I was previously Head of Drama Performance at Leicester Grammar School.

I focus on professional development and supporting students’ career progression into the performing arts. I hold a PGCE in Secondary Drama Education and a First-Class BA (Hons) in Professional Practice in Performing Arts Industries from Middlesex University. I’m also a Trainee LAMDA Examiner and trained at Italia Conti, where I achieved a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre, validated by Trinity College London.

People are at the heart of everything I do. I believe that clear, thoughtful communication builds connection, fosters understanding, and creates opportunities for collaboration. By empowering students with this approach, I help them unlock their potential and drive meaningful change.

Affordable Music Lesson Pricing

I offer tailored LAMDA lessons in person at Pitsford School, designed to suit students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student, there’s a level for everyone:

  • Beginner (Entry & Introduction grades)

  • Intermediate (Grades 1–5)

  • Advanced (Grades 6–8)

Lessons are 40 minutes long and focus on exam preparation, helping students build confidence and refine their performance skills. I also provide access to the LAMDA Theory platform, where students can upload monologues, work on character profiles, find tips on learning lines, practise tongue twisters, and explore practitioner knowledge to enhance their learning.

Getting started is simple:

  1. Contact me to check availability and discuss your needs.

  2. Book your lesson and secure your spot.

  3. Pay the termly invoice for the lessons.

  4. Attend weekly lessons to continue building skills and progress.

Students are expected to practise their pieces at home to make the most of each lesson. Exams are held twice a year at Pitsford School, giving students the opportunity to showcase their hard work and progress.

Pricing

Each 40-minute lesson is priced at £30.60. Lessons are billed at the start of each term, and students will receive 10 lessons per term. If you wish to terminate lessons, a term’s notice is required. For full details on lessons and logistics, you can refer to the contract (available to download).

FAQs

What age can students start?
Students can begin as early as primary school age. Lessons are tailored to suit the individual, whether they’re completely new or already have some experience.

Do I need my own instrument?
Yes, having your own instrument is important for practice between lessons. If you’re unsure what to buy, I’m happy to advise before you commit to anything.

How often are lessons?
Most students attend weekly, as this gives the best balance of progress and consistency. Fortnightly sessions can be arranged if needed, depending on availability.

Are online lessons effective?
They can be very effective with the right setup. Many students make great progress online, especially if travel or scheduling is a challenge.

What if I miss a lesson?
If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible. Where notice is given, I’ll always try to offer an alternative slot, though this can’t be guaranteed.
